Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate is gray or blue-green granular crystals, odorless, slightly salty, and has an iron smell. It is easy to weather in dry air and gradually oxidizes in humid air to form yellow-brown alkaline iron sulfate.
The dried product of ferrous sulfate is off-white or light green powder, which turns blue-green when reacted with water.
Can be used to prepare milk, milk powder, soy flour, and soy milk powder. It can also be used to fortify candies other than gum.
