VD3 is also known as cholecalciferol
VD3 is an oily yellow clear liquid, sensitive to light, air and heat. Very soluble in ethanol, acetone, chloroform, insoluble in water.
VD3 powder is white or off-white needle-shaped crystals or powder, odorless and tasteless, easily affected by air and light and is more stable than VD2.
VD3 dry powder is the most widely used VD fortifier. It is more stable than D2 in terms of resistance to acid, alkali, oxygen and heat. It is mainly used for the fortification of edible oils, margarine and dairy products.
